Had a lunch date down the hinterland with the family so I took the rod and had a arvo and am session after bass. Arvo sess was a bit slow only landing 3 hungry surface smashing bass,but this mornings sess was a beauty landing heaps. Even though it was windy and a bit cold down there the bass were on the chew. Fizzers,walk the dog and cicadas like lures done the job.

Its at private property in the gold coast hinterland. Most of the creeks in the hinterland hold fish.

i want to fish down that way some time as we camp around there and the western scenic rim and creeks hold fish .

Davo there are heaps of creeks in the area and most hold bass so you should do OK

i know i will be that way at easter .so a new graphite rod ,reel and braid and i should be on my way. .get sick of carp and turtles and eels .seams all i catch with a float and bread.

casting lures beside logs and between trees as close as you can get will give you rewards,good casts = more fish and less lures lost. If I am a bit rusty I will cast short and then keep extending my cast until I am on the money.

kewl i can't wait to give it a go .be so much fun fishing a different style and gear .and give me something to do while camping other then having a beer. thanks for the tips dino.

Sounds like alot of fun mate, the kind of fishing i love.

Might head up around that area some time and target some bass.
