Favourite Flathead Lure

Hey Boys,

Okay I think we all know that Flathead will mainly hit anything that moves but I wanted to put it out there to see people's favourite Flathead lure that you have taken your most scalps on. Mine is the Mann's stretch 5 & 10+ in the scarlotte o'hara fluro pink colour!

The prong is a weapon thats for sure.. What colour do you like?

um.. i think its called like holo pumkin or something not too sure, just no what it looks like. Unfortunetly i havent seen that colour in the guzzler range:( but tis a killer on all fish imo!

sx40,sx48,sx60 are all good for flatties. Also the Chubby Deep is great, and a lot of the sx40/chubby rip offs work just as well.

plastics, just about anything with a decently weighted jighead, I often fish 1/8th to keep it right down the bottom, then a simple lift/wind retrieve.

Around the Pin its any plastic in pumpkinseed, and sx60 in gold/black in Cabbage Tree Creek. I don't target the lizards anywhere else

Spinner baits for Lizards? Wow I guess I have made a self fulfilling propecy on Flathead will hit just about anything..

i have caught a few flatties trolling spinnerbaits in coochin...

the attack minnows are pretty good flatty lures too..but hard to beat mans stretch 10..pink or grey

Gees, mine would have to be the Squidgy Wrigglers (with the shimmering flecks), as so far I have caught 2 flatties with that and even a decent cod. I think though that I need to look more at the jigheads as well and also investigate the better brands as the one I had was bent by the cod I caught.

For flatties, 4 inch GULP in a variety of makes. If you are targeting flatties I cant think of anything more leathel!

Other lures work of course but if the aim is the ensure fish, I reckon thats the best bet!

I like squidggy wrigglers but they don't make them as big any more, Atomic grubs go allright, Prawn Stars just speak for them selves! With that said I've caught most of my lizzards on some dodgy noname plastics!

Still to get one on a hardbody:(

6 inch!!?? Geiozz.. I'd go that big if I were chasing Amberjack or Snapper or something.. It's interesting though and very true.. It's very rare to get a big flathead on a small plastic. They just couldn't be bothered.

yeh this size will get you into the 90cm+ fish, any colour with metallic in it
