now i dont know if there has been a pic of one of these little wormy thingy on here b4?

i have caught them in the harbours of scarbrough,mooloolaba and thruout the river...weird....the engulf the hook no matter how big!

Have caught them off a rock wall at Pinkenba to mate, no idea what they are

I odnt have a clue wht they are but i tend to catch a few of these criters at the hornibrook bidge;) i once sunk a boney bream which was intended for a shark.....no shark just a good 5 of these guys noring at ma bait:(

In the Wild Guide to Moreton Bay i found this which looks similar. Possibly same species.

Though did it 'sting' a bit when touched? as this species does, hence the name Fire Worm.

Nothing in Grants Guide to Fishes on it.

thanx jonny! yer i have once had a spine stuck in my finger and tried to pullit out with my teeth so i could spit it out..only to have the spine in my tounge:pinch: ....i just cut em off now:P

Yeah I used to get a couple when I used to live at Nudgee Beach on bait. I sometimes used to just chuck em back out, never got a bite on them though . Interesting little creatures they are.

Yer I had caught em as well, Brissy River, Pine River and around mud, now I know what they are, bloody ugly though:evil:
