rigging plastics properly

so after some testing of my plastic rigs in the pool just then, ive mastered the rig of the gulp jerk shads and squidgy flick baits withouth them spinning. ive pretty much got everything down pat except for the gulp 3 and 4 inch minnows. how the hell do u rig these things withouth them spinning? ive been using tt 1/20th heads on the 3 inch minnows and they ALWAYS spin. and trust me ive rigged them straight.

any help or what jigheads to get would be great thanks

i find this happens a fair bit if the tails are bent due to the way they have been in the packaging but if the good ones just need to be rigged very much even left to right aswell as up n down, does take some practice.

btw i dont believe the jigheads have anything to do with it coz ive used most of the ones with gamatsu hooks, round, pointed and what not, the minnows are also what i mostly use so ive got it pretty sussed

The grubs have a definate head shape and an up and down side. Look for a little fin design on the TOP of the body. Measure your jig head along the side of the plastic so you know where the hook should come out from and thread it on keeping it all centred.

What sort of hooks are you using with them?

the minnows also have a way they should go ie. the head is the smooth side and the under has like gills moulded into it...could be the problem? never rigged them upside down

they will pretty much always spin on the retrieve

but thats not how you fish them

let them sink to the bottom, few sharp twitches should make them dart up then let them sink back down

The 3 inch Berkley power minnows, squidgey wrigglers, gulp 3 inch minnows and 2 inch Gulp shrimp are all very productive for structure bream fishing.
