queensland nudgee creek prawns 28/2

Went prawning at nudgee creek this am. Launched at 5 am returned to ramp at 9 am for grand total of 19 banana prawns, about 12 poddy mullet ( Kept for bait in case I can get to kookaburra paek on weekend0 and one lar4ge catfish humanely dispatched ( Read mashed) with large waddy.

There was about 10 boats chasing the prawns noone did well although those with the ability to throw a large net probably ended up with a couple of kilos.

I will ask feral to post the photo of the result.

Was this the creek or the shultz canal? because I would have thought the creek was too small for boats. It was really shallow for our kayaks in most places.

Sorry I am still living in pre airport era. I was actually in Kedron Brook Floodway. I prawned from the jetty downstream of the boat ramp and upstream as far as the pine tree on the lhs.

Most around 4 inches just not enough.

On reflection ( meaning when confronted with photographic evidence )they look closer to three inches.
