queensland Father & Son Fish

:fishing: Must be the day for a father & son fish as I also took my son (6yrs old)to introduce him to bass fishing down the local creek, while the fishing is still good.

Didn't get anything during the light. I was using my baby crank, a purple spinner, a cheap popper I bought off the internet years ago and some worms for Declan (my son).

Jimmy lent me a popper which I proceeded to throw into a tree on my first cast

But when the sun went down the action happened. :cheer:

Again they smashed the baby crank.

I managed to get a PB with a 45cm Bass, getting closer to the over 50's club

And my son managed to get 2 Bass, the biggest being 37cm, which I thought was a good effort.

I admit I helped him a little by holding the rod up while he was winding it in, but he did all the work. (didn't want to lose my rod or him over the edge)

All in all a good time was had, we only managed 5 but we were happy.

Had the pleasure of meeting Dean & his son down there also.

That would be something else to watch, a ten year old battling a 50cm bass . Calebs crept up to a forty which gave him a good fight.....lots of grunting and wide eyes !!!

Doesn't get much better than watching your kids catch good fish.
