Ok there is a conflict with javascript on the site (community section) and so many functions don't work presently in Internet Explorer.

Some of these functions are:

- Write a Message (PM)

- Join Group

- Add Friend

- Registration (Possibly)

etc

So we will go through the code in the next day or so and try and work out what is conflicting and so Internet Explorer will play nice.

Sorry for the incovenience but we will get it fixed soon (over the next few days)

it is a real pain in the arse when it stuff's up, why change a good thing ??? it was ok b4, so what's changed?? the site is prob the wosrt it has ever been since i been on it, hope it gets fixed soon

Rob as pointed out it seems to be only Explorer that is failing with some thing at the moment, which is typical of EI not the site.

Secondly to answer "why change a good thing". You cant just let a web site sit and stagnate. It needs to be upgraded or it looses support and maintenance options. To compare it to a car, if we left the site as it was when we first made it, as satisfactory as it may have been, to fix problems and issues now would as hard as sourcing parts for some rare 1950's vehicle. Its a fairly loose but sound analogy. There are always some teething problems but these are fixed as they arise.

The Internet Explorer issues the site was experiencing should now be fixed. We have gone through and changed a fair bit of code to fix the IE issues and the plus side is the site should also load faster as well.

Please let us know any issues in the Website Issues forum category.

haha.

What Angus was trying to say is that websites are dynamic and need to keep up to date with technology and society. Technology and security issues are always present and as Angus said you need to keep ontop of maintenance and upgrade accordingly to keep ontop of these.

Also as the site grows we want to make a better experience for users and members and we are always trying to find better ways of doing things and also better features.
