davo's SSO report

Well the plan was to get around 11 set up and have a arvo fish ,get the fishing bug and fish for the weekend ,with a casual drink and chat at night.

well that didn't happen.

well end up having to work Friday till 130pm,so didn't get down to bruns till just before dark .we set up light a tarp for cover and slept in the car ,worked out good .

thing was after working friday there was the friday night drink to let off the week steam .

what a good night it was ,heaps of chatting ,being yahoo's and just have a good old time .

so i was on a good behaviour bond so didn't go hardcore but stayed up late and still had enough to feel a bit average in the morning.

so saterday morning after a feed i felt ok ,but end up having a lazy day. the old canoe just sat in front of camp for the day ,we just chilled ,enjoyed the quite and chatted etc.

no kids with us it was just way to easy to chill out and relax .

so saterday night was less wild but still a late 1 .

woke up sunday feeling good and think i better get a fish in before lunch .

so we got the canoe set up and off we go .

tried a few rock wall around the front of the river for bream but no luv .

either getting snagged or drifting to fast and i forgot a anchor for the canoe .

so back up to around camp and drifted the sand flats for flathead no luv there either .

but at least we got out on the water for 3 hrs and had a go.

in hindsight we think we should just set up some rods in front of camp and soaked baits there all weekend.

so one of my fav parts of the comp the prize presentation .

get to hear about the fish being caught etc .

last 2 comps i got lucky and got lucky door prizes .

this comp i won some sunglasses and a cap ,really sweet sunnies too .

so here is some pic's ,we didn't take any of the weekend ,so got these of other people .

i ran to the stage rubbing my hands together ,not for the prize ,but just thinking i'll run a muck .but i didn't i behaved myself .

anyway that's about sums up the weekend.

oh i end up blowing my week pay down there ,good fun ,pizza ,drinks ,take away .lol

well didn't blow all of it ,i bought some AFO gear .

cap ,beanie ,shirt and jackets .

all nice gear ,good price and quality i reckon .

the beanie and jacket will cop a flogging over winter ,nice and warm .

had a top weekend a bloody good time,better than last year i think .

(that mite have something to do with the 3 day hangover last year lol)

so cheers to the guys for putting the SSO on and cheers to sponsors for the prizes.

i really like the new sunnies ,they sweet .

going to test them fishing tomorrow .

no fish ..........couldn't even lose a bait ,but only fished 3 hrs on sunday .

that is for the whole weekend .

maybe i should of fished a bit more .

last year i fished about 6 hrs over 2 days and caught 2 fish .

most of the comps /events or socials i only catch 1 or 2 or 0 fish .

i spend more time chatting ,ginning about and having fun ,over a quite drink or 2 .hehe.
