Jacobs well fishing spots????

Hi all

I was just wondering where some good fishing spots in jacobs well are. I am looking to target flathead with my little tinny. All advice will help.

Here is a spot u could try out.....

Pink= Flathead

Red= Jacks

Green= Cod

Blue= Bream near drop off

White= Tarpon

Also hit up the bait shop next to the vmr he is very good to chat too. He has a map on where to fish and he also has reports on where to fish etc

Heaps of ppl fish the well..!!

Water depth is from 1.5m near the wall out to about 5m in the middle.

I've actually found better flathead numbers on the outside of the marina wall and the flats between the entrance and the main river ... it gets quite shallow there but that's where we've found some numbers.

The place gets flogged on a daily basses. The spots in the canals metioned above are fished alot less and do hold good fish. But if it is flathead you are after then try the many sand flats from the powerlines at russel upto the bar. Fish them from a high tide to run out, with 2 to 5 inch soft plastics and an aray of hardbodies and also lightly weighted live and dead baits.

theres a bay just inside the mouth. you CANT fish there its a protected zone.

also on an out going tide, look for run offs from the main land, have picked up some massive flatiies sitting at the entrance to these sorts of run offs.

I lost a meter plus flattie in about 30cm of water there 2 weeks ago usuing that as a guide.

You could try the jetty there, I've seen a few bent rods there over the years. You coyld also walk the little beach there. My kids used to catch bream there when they were little. In with a chance for flathead too.
