I disagree with the lip grips comment.

Use a pair of quality lip grips. Quality pairs should have the ability for the grips to rotate free of the hand grip. This should eliminate any twisting damage.

As for the grips pinching and causing damage that way, I know on the boga grips at least, this pinching force is directly dependent on the amoutn of weight applied to the grips. You should always lift and support the fish, and not via the lip grips, IMO. As such, the grip shouldn't be pinching too much.

Dinodog: people can change, particularly with their views and actions. Just because there may be photos of someone holding a fish poorly in the past, doesn't mean they practice the same methods now.
