does anyone know if the jarvis walker triumph is good its the estuary combo for 50 bucks

Hey mate, it would suit for species such as bream, Flathead,whiting etc. It's a good starting combo that would get the job done (:

Jarvis Walker is pretty average in most peoples books, so maybe look for a cheapy daiwa combo fairly sure you could pick up a similarly priced one. Probably comes spooled with anywhere from 4-12lb mono one would assume

For $50 how bad can it be?

I personally would not get one, but if you want a cheap rod to knock around until you feel like an upgrade... Why not!

Also whats your intended application?

If you are looking for a light rod to flick plastics etc than I would say "no" thats not a good rod.

If you want to soak baits at brekky than sure, go for it.

Have a look-see on here for second hand stuff mate, there is always gear up for sale at good prices.

I'm pretty sure anaconda had a berkley dropshot combo for 99 bucks recently. Pretty good buy if you're after a light estuary luring rod.

Ahh pretty sure bcf stock them mate! If you aren't too sure on what you need for the type on fishing you want to do you ask the guys there what would be right for you and im sure they'd help you get set up.

to be honest, im not sure if line comes on that combo or not.

if not, put some low strech mono on it/or brai [The pound will depend on what size fish/species you are catching/targeting]

but your best bet will be to just go into BFC and have a chat to one of the boys and they will set you up with what you need(:
