broken snakehead

bought a 44pound snake head electric bow mount motor just 4 weeks ago, was using it around the scarborough reef, went to switch it off and nothing happened, just kept running at full speed, had to disconect it from the battery. have returned it to where i bought it, the good thing is that they are going to fix it with in the week (under warenty) anyone had a simular problem?

No but I am starting to get a bit worried that it will happen to me some day. Motor break down I mean. Think I'm going to get a spare electric just in case.

It will be the power controller, my motor (not a snakehead) did something similar, right as rain after a new one fitted.

Also as Brian says, if I dont have a outboard on, I dont like to go without a spare electric these days! (I usually scrounge one off Ray or Ferg)
