anyone own one ?

if you own a bait runner what kind of rod is matched to it ?

wil be using to fish for snapper jew etc

any feed back appreciated.

I had 4000 dl with raider barra spin

Was a sweet setup for jews and threadys landbased

Next setup will be a 3500b with 7ft 8-10kg rod prob another raider

I have 3 and just ordered another.

I have 2 - 3500b on 5-8kg snapper raiders

And 1 6000d on a 5-10 kg snapper heavy raider and just ordered another 6000d to put on the same rod.

Great reels and rods in my opinion.

If your after a cheapie, i will be selling a shimano baitrunner aero 6010 with 30 lb braid which i will post over the weekend.

I have the 12000D set up on a cheap $40 shimano 6-8kg rod. Love it on the reef, mainly because every time I drop the switch over to let more line out to keep in touch with the bottom, everyone on the boat sh)ts themselves, they think it's my drag going off.

Best so far is 12kg red with 50lb braid on this setup. Very nice to use.

More expensive than similar things in other brands but I haven't been able to fault it yet.

Oh and by the way, went over to Jones's and paid the shelf price about two years ago. Seen it $20 cheaper every so often but not much more than that.

Be carefull with the d series quite a few of the had dodgey gears felt horible rough.

My 4000d was one of them

I bought a d series a few weeks ago and it feels fine using light tackle but it feels rough if I've loaded it up with a heavy rig........doesn't really feel right to me so I'm not surprised at coldasjoe's post

What brand line are you using ? I have bought 2 x 4000 thunnus.

My 6000d is showing signs of corrosion but that could be my fault, i have ahd a 6500b that has had the same amount of use and its stil going strong.
