Moogerah Dam Fishing

I thought I might head out to Moogerah Dam on Sunday for a fish.

Never been before, so any tips would be great

Can I shore fish out there? Any good shore spots?

Any advice on bait? Lures?

Got a week license, so if anyone has any advice, tips etc, all greatly appreciated

Fishing Reynolds Creek ( Below the exclusion zone) below the dam wall can be very rewarding.Access via Haig Park live shrimp and worms work ok as well as lures.

Spangled perch,bass,yellas and tandans .

Nice mown area with plenty of shade. Just take a couple of chairs ,sit and relax and bait fish or if you are feeling a bit energetic walk up and down and flick a few lures and if more energetic head downstream into the lost world area.

The area Ray is talking about has pretty much been stripped bare of bass and yellowbelly recently, lots of locals taking a feed from there. Only found a few skinny small bass last time there a few weeks back. For shore based dam fishing I would suggest driving up the road to Maroon Dam and fish from the park near the education centre. Use a float to keep your baits out of the weedbeds.
