Were is a good shelted landbased fishing spot for tommoro, wife is taking me and the kids fishing for fathers day. I need to catch somethink.

The southwall at the spit or the beaches at runaway bay, but the boat traffic may be a problem.The bay up from seaworld will be nice with the kids.The southwall is not child freindly.

As you can tell i am newish to the goldcoast spent all my life in christchurch and get to know were to go when the wind is a problem. I was at the spit todat right at furtherest point looking at the high rises and the wind was terrible my line was in in about a minute with the wind. Are the beaches along from seaworld sheltered from the wind.

Get over it. Had the same bad experience today. Lost two hooks, two sinkers, two times 40m of line....and then I decided that it wasn't my day and I gave up. :-)))

A good advice for a sheltered spot would work for me too :-).

A good start is to look at the wind forecast to gain an understanding of wind direction, places like seabreeze, willy weather or BOM will give you that info

Once you know the wind direction you'll have a better idea of where to head that will be less affected.

If you don't know the area well google map it and have a look as you will be able to find spots that should be sheltered under certain wind conditions
