queensland Canal session with Matty (Viper 83)

Hi guys. Just a quick report on tonight's canal session with Matty.

We were hoping the steamy weather today would entice a couple of jacks to come out and play, so thought we'd hit a canal close to my place.

Matt was on first, a nice 36cm bream.

Then I pulled a legal flatty from a rocky little shore line.

A couple more bream came off a rock wall.

There were some massive bust up's with the trevs going nuts so we both fired out a cast and came up with the goods.

Matty also hooked up to what we suspected to be a nice Jack on his 1-3lb Gekka/steez combo. The drag singing like crazy, but it was short lived as the fish spat the hook.

Was nice to catch up for a flick with ya again mate.

Cheers Fishing Nut, they're an awesome fish to catch on the light gear. Seeing em round up the bait and smash into em is pretty cool too.

We're just spewing he didn't get that Jack in.

Yeah mate it was a great little session. Was good to catch up and have a fish. Would have been great to get that jack in for sure. My goal is to get one on that 1-3lb Gekka rod lol. Managed to get a 67cm GT on it today so thats one species down lol.
