A Few Recents.

Hey all, just a quicky on the last few sessions.

Last Sunday I hit the brissy river with my mate Luke to chase some bass, we had a pretty good of a day with around 30 landed between us, most of the fish were very solid and they all hit hard and put on a good show. Luke managed to get a 49cm and my best for the day was 45cm. Most fish were taken on Jackall TN's with a couple on Damiki cranks.

Yesterday I went back again for another shot, while there were not as many fish around and they shut down very quickly I still managed to get completely destroyed by one very good bass and landed a solid 48cm fish plus another 6 or 7 smaller models. The Damiki Napjaru in the new green goblin colour did the damage there.

Lastly I went for a morning canal flick with Jords at Redcliffe today chasing breeem. Jords had a pretty good morning landing a few reasonable fish, I however could not get my leader to stay together and ended up being dusted more times than I would have liked and only had the one baby to show for it at the end. Moral of the story? When Jords says let's go chase breeem, you go chase bass ;) Pontoon 21 gagagoon and Damiki shrimp accounted for Jords' fish.

Thanks for the report about the Bass Ant. Looks like you and your mate had a great time chasing those Bass, I to enjoy chasing Bass but haven't had a chance to target any Bass lately. I think we need more reports about these wild Bass, Native Bass are a great fish. Oh and the Bream are good to, except for Jords appearing on my screen lol. Believe it or not I miss chasing the pesky little things oh well bring on Forster next month :silly:

Nice work Ant, how do you retrieve the tn's mate? I've used them in salt and find I get most hits after a long pause but I haven't been game to use them in creeks for fear of getting them snagged on sunken branches etc.
Cheers Steve :) Mate we were just slow rolling them, cast towards structure or over underwater structure, leave for a couple of seconds and then just a slow roll back. I've only just started using bibless cranks and I'm quite enjoying it, the bass certainly like them and hit them hard. I found they were actually not too bad in the snags as long as you stop as soon as it fouls, sometimes you can give the rod a few flicks and they will come free and you can continue the retrieve, other timesyou have to go in and unsnag but as long as you don't bury the hooks in it's usually pretty easy.
