When you take note of who was unavailable for selection,I don`t think the Aussie loss tonight really shocked too many people.

Hopefully, next game, they come out better for this loss.

The more I see of Cherry-Evans at this level, the more I feel Aus and Qld should be grooming someone else to take over Thurston`s position when it becomes available full time.

A loss for Australia will mean back-to-back defeats on Australian soil for the first time since 1970, and Australia will miss the Four Nations final for the first time.

Australia will play in their heritage blue-and-maroon jersey, and England will wear a heritage red and white hooped jersey,to mark 100 years since England's Rorke's Drift Test win.

Agree on both counts, Gad. Still thought the NZ v England game was great entertainment and Australia will have to lift a bit more to win the final. Seems like the days when Australia could send out a second string team and cruise to victory are a thing of the past. Good thing for the game.

The Kiwi vs Pom match was the Kiwi`s worst performance of the tournament.Samoa reserved their worst game for todays match against the Aussies.

Once again an Aussie vs Kiwi final game

Following 2 great games with a couple of unlucky bounces of the ball, a lack of discipline from the outset certainly put the Samoans on the back foot and Australia rolled on.

Australia`s new combinations are starting to gel at the right time, Saturdays final against the Kiwi`s, in front of a Kiwi home crowd, should be a cracker

well done, well played, the Kiwi`s worked hard for the win.

At the 65th minute mark my words to the TV were, “when the @#$% is Sheens putting Ben Hunt on, the Kiwi`s are starting to smother DCE & Cronk.â€

Once again, I could not fathom why Sheens played Jackson and not Ryan Hoffman, big games you need that experience when you have so many young first timers.

Anyway, 2014 footy is now done and dusted.
