Paul and I arrived at the local river before sunset hoping the bass would be in the mood after a week of sunny weather. Just after 6pm Paul landed a 36cm bass. A couple of minutes later while I was reeling in a surface crank, I paused for a second and "Boosh"! A loud surface strike with a big splash and I was on! We burst out laughing at the strike and the wake it left behind as the bass dived for the bottom. As I was landing the 40cm bass Paul calls out that he's on another bass after a surface strike. It was a feisty baby 32cm bass. We cast for another 30 minutes without a hit and called it a night.

Good show,just remember you wont be the only one coming out at night now its warming up.

Thanks Dino! When I started river bassin 4 years ago I stepped on a big brown. I am very careful these days.
