Lesson Learnt The Hard Way.

When preparing my new old boat I had a brain bubble and thought instead of fastening the rod holders with screws and nuts i would use pop rivets.
When fishing at NPD this morning I decided I needed a break from catching fish so I baited up and  placed my rod in the rod holder and secured the clip and even put a tether around the rod. ( Guess where the other end of the tether was attached
I made my cuppa and was just going to pour some milk in it and the rod went ballistic and I said you can wait till I have had a mouthfull of coffee to the fish.
BANG
!!!!! bother  and several other words rod,reel and rod holder over the side in 50 feet of water.
Everyone else said it was a good day.
70 bass
1 yella
1 tandan.
Once again a lot of bass over 40cm still no 50s but a 48 and a 49.

A good days fishing, bad luck on the rod and reel though...ouch 

It's happened to us all at some stage. I was lucky enough to tangle the line of a rod and reel that went overboard once and got it back!! $600 saved woohoo.

he will get it back next trick, always does.......

I can think of at least 3 rods he has lost over the side and got them back later on!
