queensland Pin Trip 04.02

Headed out at the leisurely hour of 9am with the plan to fish the incoming tide for whiting and whatever else. Had the old man for company today which is a bit of a rarity so was good to hang out.

 

pumped some yabbies for bait, headed around to the first spot which turned out to be plagued with small catfish. Booooo!!!! Pulled one whiting out but moved on.

 

next spot was a bit quiet at first but caught a couple of quality whiting I the mid 30's and then the grunter came on the chew. Picked up 8 legal grunter ranging from 31 to a horse at 42cm, dinner well under control! The tide dropped off and so did the bite so we moved again, had a swim and a feed and then headed home. Cracking day out with the old man.

Nice! Have seen a few grunter around lately interesting. I have always thought they were great eating fish.

They certainly are tasty. They go hard on the whiting gear too.
