Hey Guys and Gals,

Bit of viewer discretion (DEAD THINGS)!

Been a long time between posts, so Dumping it all at once. With work being crazy i have been taking any advantage of spare time i can get.

First trip was off DI with a mate, after years of getting sea sick i finally got put onto some tablets that actually work and don't make me drowsy allowing me to do an overnight-er 40km off Fraser Island. And was stoked to land my very first Red Emperor going 14KG, and what beasts of fish these guys are.

 

Second Trip was down south to a private property with its own river with some of the last privately owed river. We managed some healthy cod out of ankle deep water which was absolutely awesome to see. Managed one on surface before chucking on the spinner bait for the rest of the day.

I have been hunting for a long time and late last year i decided to give Bow Hunting a go, over the past few months i have managed a few Goats but my main goal was to knock a few pigs with it. Over the weekend i managed to Knock 3 Decent pigs with the bow. I must say bowhunting has taught me a lot of patients. I have bunched in a few photos,

Good to hear you have found some seasick tablets that work. What is the name of them or they from a compound chemist? 

Can you put you back on the offshore deckie list

How long ago were the Longie's caught? Been ages since I've seen them around.

I'm not into hunting, but still appreciate the skill behind it and definitely with a Bow.

Great combined report Chris, congrats on the absolute cracker first red emperor - you've set the bar high .......   Nice solid longies - your boat or Jeremy's? (Does he still have his 4 Seasons or upgraded?).

Nice solid pigs mate - roughly what distance did you shoot them from?

Yeah Jeremy still has the 4 seasons but think it will be gone towards the end of the year. 

 

I normaly try getting up to within 20 yards to test myself and limit the possibility of missing. All the pigs where shot from within 25 yards. The billy was more like 40 yards.

4 hours for me, but get all those things within 30 minutes of Brisbabe

Yeah they came from bova chemist down in sydney but apparently they do not make them anymore. 

 

Keen to come anytime Wayne, just limited during the week. Longies were a while ago now.

Yew some cracking catches there. Do you eat the pork? A few mates in Kilcoy do and say they are great. I'd love to give it a go but have no idea how to check if they are ok to eat. 

Stonking Red! I'd love to get a cod one day. Sweet water is so fun but I have only ever caught bass, catties and spanglies.

A mate of mind took some of the pork from our last trip, they are okay if they come off grain country, but all 3 pigs were shot within 300 yards of a dead cow that they had been eating. 

Cod come out of some pretty special country in my books. One of my favourite to chase.

haha fair enough. Yep really keen to get into that. planning a stanthorp area trip before too long.
