Warning: Irukandji At Wavebreak.

Hey team just a little heads up...

While swimming at Wavebreak 2 days ago AFO member @Boydy 's wife was stung by an irukandji jelly fish (confirmed by seaworld as Andrew caught it).

This was highly concerning for them as Julia is pregnant but after 2 days in hospital she has been released and is well.

Anyway I just wanted to flag it as I know there is a social coming up soon. I don't want to be a fear mongerer, and I know it was probably a really freak occurance but I guess if you get stung by something maybe lean towards the side of caution.

Cheers.

Wow, that is a bit of a worry. Hope Mrs Boydy is ok and it doesn’t put her off swimming in the sea because it is one of the most therapeutic things you can do. I am at Burrum Heads for a couple of weeks and there are some keen shark fishermen that come down to the boat ramp in front of the house and drag in reasonable sized bull sharks but we still swim there - just not at dawn or dusk or with half a stingray tied to our bodies.
