queensland Coochin Creek 18/2/18

Fished the Monthly Toorbul Comp yesterday.    Fished the mouth of Coochin Creek early for the annoying pony fish (atm my most hated fish!)and undersize bream.  

Moved to Hussey Creek to find more under size bream.  The wind got up so I decided to try Coochin again. It payed off this time boating 10 nice whiting.

 Inbetween them where the normal rays and long toms to keep the little reels screaming.  One of the whiting was this horse at 40cms. A couple of cms under my PB but was still stoked to get it.

Whopper whiting !! Good photo tip too.

When I fish for whiting with @benno573 we call the rays "shotguns" as the whiting don't usually start biting until someone has caught a ray.

No luck for me in the comp. My son won the members draws and my daughter got a couple of small things from the raffles so they went home happy.

Solid whiting and great feed. Well done. Thanks for the report. It has been a long time since I have caught a stingray. Thats probably a good thing. BTW I eat the pike too... shhhh dont tell anyone.
