1. Tarwhine

2. I don't think this is a star gazer and fyi stargazers are epic eating. Looks like some sort of common rock dwelling fish.

3. Wrasse

4. I used to call these squirrel fish.

Of the 4 the tarwhine is your conventional eating fish. I think in nsw the size limit is 23cm.

Welcome to the site mate :)

The Tarwhine and the Wrasse are both great eating.

This is QLD size limit guide.

I find it unwieldy to use so prefer an App on my phone. I use fishing My Fishing Mate Australia but there are heaps of others. There are some on this site.

We all like to see photos of fish on this site so please feel free to post more but if you want to one day take one home for dinner apps are great for finding out size and bag limits.

Good on you for having a fish. Looks like you are a natural. I hope we get to see more about your fishing trips and lots more photos.

no1 tarwhine size limit 20cm bag limit 10 nsw..no2 not sure still searching ..no3 gunthers wrasse  usually too small to eat..no 4 think squirrel fish  will search more...get yourself a nsw bag an size limit booklet or jumbo sticker from a tackle shop..ignorance is no excuse for the fisheries and they will book you if you have illegal fish...check the booklet and have a rough idea of what you may catch...rick
