queensland What Could Have Hit This Mullet?

Hi guys,

I was fishing with a live poddy mullet down near Shorncliffe jetty today and something hit it around lunch time.

Any guess on what might have taken the head off my mullet?

Bream are good at doing that.

I have had bream do this with live herring. Strong mouthed little critters.

remeber when we were down fishos on the bank across the bridge the bream kept smashing the mullet we had ?

anything with teeth or claws mate. Could have been sharked, bream, squid, or most likely a combo of all of them.

if it didn't start pulling drag then chances are it was a crab just munching on it

Not sure how big MT would go biting them off though, they seem rather internal.

I’ve seen similar but fishing with live herring. We were fishing an area on light gear known for some stonker bream dusting us off on pylons.

only one thing to do. Go back and catch the bugger.
