Went fishing loandbased at Indooroopilly yesterday morning, was there for nearly three hours. Finished with a massive mud crab that was a female so she went back, 2 catfish one real fat one at 55cm.......and I finally caught my first bullshark. I'd had tried many times through winter with no luck.....but now that it has warmed up they are out there. Hooked two sharks but only landed one. yeah great feeling.....can tick it off the list now.

Was released to fight another day. I think I'll have a go at eating the next one I catch. I just have never tried skinning / filleting one before, so see how I go.

Good one - they are certainly showing up in good time for this weekend.

When you fillet one - just cut off the fillets with the skin on. Then cut the flesh away from the remaining skin. Don't be scared to lose a bit of the flesh - there is plenty of it.

You should be right to get one for the weekend mate.

I caught mine on a pillie on size 4 gang hooks. Use a heavy snapper lead to get down to the bottom, as there is some serious flow in the river.

Didn't put him on the brag mat, but I'd guess between 110cm - 120cm.

I do have a battle scar from him too.......was holding a bit of line with my finger as I thought it was getting some really small nibbles from a cattie then bang he went for a run and the 30lb line cut into me. Worth it tho.
