Lake Dwyer 9/2

Was visiting Daughter at Esk over the weekend to I dragged the dam boat along.

I had seen that lake Dwyer had gone up so I decided to have a fish.

There was a few locals form the van park having a swim on the ramp and they said that the dam has risen around 10 ft.

It must have been really shallow as the deepest water I found in the sounder was 15ft in a creek bed that was about 6 ft wide , The general depth was around 12 ft.

I dragged a few lures trying to follow the creek bed with no result. It was a bit hard as there was a cross breeze of around 15 knots.

I then found a bank that dropped off fairly steeply to 12 ft and anchored up and cast lures and spinners to the bank.

Then moved and cast to shallow bank that was covered in submerged grass.

Not a touch all day so I packed it in .

The lake is supposed to be stocked with bass, yellas and silvers with a resident population of tandanus and spangled perch. Dont know how they survived the drought.

I probably wont bother going back unless i see some positive reports on the place.

Cheers
