  1. Good afternoon gents, and of course ladies. I haven’t been here for some time as I’ve sold my boat, cried for a few days and bought a caravan, the brides wishes and time to do some travelling. The other day I finally got around to going through all my fishing gear. FOR SALE 1 x Shimano Talica 16 in packaging - used and in excellent condition. This reel has been used maybe 3 time and I can honestly say it’s never caught a fish. I had full intention of getting into this type of fishing, but never really did. From memory it is spooled, I think with 300 metres of 30 or 50 kg braid. $400:00 ono It can be picked up Mount Annan, NSW, or posted at buyers expense.
  2. If you can afford one of these https://www.galatiyachts.com/yachts/details/2768063/2019/viking/72-convertible/72/lq07/ you go right ahead and buy it. While you are at it, you can buy a smaller boat with more manoeuvrability for chasing the GT’s good luck on whatever you decide. a very nice vessel
  3. I can’t see what motor you are using. Has anyone considered the TRIM TAB https://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/021079.html

    Leakage

That rubber boot around the cables looks in pretty fair condition. This is what stops the water pouring in through this area, so I don’t believe that 100+ litres have entered through here. I’d be looking elsewhere for the major problem that the water is getting in. You’ll be surprised how much water can get in through worn out bungs. Next time your out, get someone one their belly having a look where water is coming from. If there is that much coming in, surely you will see where from. I replaced all four bungs and found a broken skin fitting that was letting water through. I had a similar problem, and found it by looking when at sea. There is a lot of water pressure on the boat when in the water. good luck and cheers
  10. Do some research, there may be a way to connect the new Garmin to the current transducer. I’m not sure and definitely have no knowledge or experience in this area. Just a thought good luck I run a Garmin 75 with B66 Airmar thru hull transducer and more than happy with the performance, even at speed https://www.gemeco.com/adapterBL.php https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=FYzNJ06VUF11E3PL2oto99 https://www.airmar.com/uploads/SpecApps/airmaremea_mixandmatch_cable_12x18_poster_MR.pdf Technology is changing daily
  11. Greg. Which transducer do you have at the moment. Is it a Lowrance or an aftermarket like Airmar
  12. This is the link to NSW rules on Boat Lighting. I would assume the same rules apply in other states https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/documents/maritime/safety-rules/publications/be-bright-safe-night.pdf
  13. I gave Lowrance the flick years ago. Have since been a Garmin man and they have never let me down. Currently running a Garmin 75dv with thru-hull transducer
  14. Not much better in Sydney. Wind generally getting up around 20 knots most days. Sunday/Monday look the best at the moment
  15. Thanks Drop Bear and AUS-BNE, I should have explained a little better. I have seen on google earth that the upgrade has been completed (some time ago). I read a couple of years ago that there was the occasional trailer being stolen from here by the local shite heads. I’ve never used this ramp but was thinking about driving to here, putting in and giving the boat a good run down the river to Botany Bay. Thanks again Mick
  16. Greg - I know this is a few months old, but can you tell me what brand Bluetooth battery monitors you purchased and where from. Thanks Mick
  17. There is a boat ramp behind the old Flower Power on Newbridge Road, Moorebank called DAVY ROBINSON BOAT RAMP I’ve been told that ramp has been done up in the last couple of years. My question is - Has anyone used this ramp recently and what is it like.
  18. Not getting it on my iPhone Greg
