Hi guys anyone used nail polish to paint jig heads? Want to know if the nail polish smell deters the fish or if it becomes inert after it has dried. cheers

1020 fish aplenty I think they say. I use to worry about these things and tides etc. now I have kids and limited time to fish so long as the wind is okay, which it will be in the morning I go fishing. Even if I don’t catch anything I still enjoy it and always something to learn!

As a former Victorian I do miss eating flake from the fish and chip shop. It’s usually gummy shark down there. Gummy shark are an often targeted species by fisherman down south, hence the name they are a bit easier to target than some of the toothy sharks. I agree bob about the sport fishing side of it, having caught gummies in the past they are an excellent sport fish. I have been told by a guy at work who eats shovel nose and says they are similar in eating to gummy

Picked up a trailer for my tinnie. The trailer does not have any sort of suspension. The boat is only a small 3.1m quintrex and is very light. Are leaf springs the best/easiest option for this? cheers

Hi guys, thinking of upgrading from a paddle kayak to a pedal. Any one who has a pedal kayak, just want to know if it is worth the extra cost, as some brands can be quite $$$ Hobie are obviously the benchmark, but there seems to be other brands with a similar pedal that a bit cheaper such as the pedal pro plus Any advice would be welcome Cheers

Thinking about putting an electric motor on a kayak as I have a 2 and a half seater and when I want to take it out on my own it can be a little tricky. anyone else used an electric motor on a yak and if it’s worth the hassle?

Leader I usually have around a rod length high tide I fish near to the shore on the Brighton side z man plastics daiwa double clutch and atomic slim twitcher hard bodies

Usually keep the same leader on the day. leader I use is fluorocarbon between 10-12lb I’ve never had any issues with that size, for bream it would be lower 6-8lb although I rarely target bream. A high tide early morning around the bridge on the Brighton side is my goto for fishing. Good size tailor, flathead and have got the odd school mackerel there.

I fish the pine quite a bit more towards the mouth. Run out tide definitely plastics 1/6 or 1/4 depending on how fast it’s heading out. Z man plastics most colours, bright colours when it’s sunny dull in low light. hard bodies on high tide around the bridges daiwa double clutch 95mm are always good started lure fishing around 7-8 years ago after being a bait fisho and won’t be going back to bait. persistence is the key and a lot of trial and error working out what is best and when, have a variety of colours and styles of lure good luck

Does anyone know any spots on bribie to target tailor land based. got a quite a few last week at the bridge but none were any big. All around the 25-30 cm mark

Tailor season again, I’ve never eaten them before usually just catch them on the light gear and throw them back. I’ve heard mixed reports on there edibility. What’s the best way to cook them

Definitely won’t be going back to fins tried it once and that was enough. have had trouble with the j braid and wind knots. I understand the j braid grand is better now with wind knots

Opinions on best braid for light lure fishing, flathead, trevally bream tailor etc usually go with sunline, have found it fairly good, wondering if there is better option
