After having my boat booked into have the Antifoul redone for cosmetic purposes only, the words from Lance and others why not remove it. Well I thought why not try a small section and see how it comes up. It came up a treat with just a slightly darker color that the rest. It takes a lot of work wet sanding from 80grit down to 1200 grit but bit by bit I'll remove from the sides then the back and lastly the bottom of the hull. It won't be a fast exercise but in the end I will have a boat that looks better and will be easier to sell in the long run. So far buying a sheet sander and wet/sheets under $100 dollars. Also from launching at spinnaker sound the sand has worn away the antifoul. When I saw the condition under the antifoul it gave me the idea to try a sample section. From what I read I was under the impression the hull would have been roughed up for the antifoul to adheare to. ATM this does not seem to be the case. A work in progress.
