4-8 lbs Rod

Sadly my Egrell S2 is now a 2 piece:blush:

Looking for recomendation on a new stick, in the 4-8 lbs range

It will be used for casting light jig heads 1/16th ish and small H/B's. Reel is a 2500 Daiwa with 4 and 8 lbs Braid

Budget of $400-$500

Open to ideas

If it was less than 6 months old you can get a new one for free. but i'm guessing this second s2 is the free new one after the first one broke:(

I do recommend the nitro rods not quite as good as the egrell but the deciding factor for me is the $60 lifetime unconditional replacement warranty.No need to keep reciepts just take the broken bits to nearest dealer and 3 to 4 days later replacement arrives.

Thanks Fellas, looked at a few Rods today. The Nitro's were nice, was also impressed by the TCurve blah blah with re coil guides.

St Croix ( Spelling ) was also another nice rod.

Walked out of Logan River Marine a happy man with a shiny new Smith Dancing Bream;)

Similar feel to the S2, lighter tip but still plenty of power.

different feel, its a full length working curve ( parabolic ) where as the S2 has a lock up point.

Awesome to cast and very sensetive

Cant wait to get a smaller Reel for it

Similar action to my T-curve by the sounds of it (about 1/4 the weight though!)

You'll probably find that plastics might take a while to get used to when using it, but you will very rarely pull a hook when using hard bodies
