hey folks,

in 2 weeks time i have about 10 days off and are hoping to take my 4wd and boat away on a trip for about 5 days somewhere.??

I have a troop carrier with all the camping gear needed, water tank, diff locks, fridge freezer, roof rack etc... and a 445 haines with sounder and plotter and are lookin for a nice relaxin destination with the opportunity to catch some good fish. as i have been struggling to catch much in brisbane.

so any suggestions would be much appreciated as i havn't live in the sth east to long and have not had my truck and boat long at aall.i don't need to take the boat on the trip cos enjoy fishin land base. the only option i know so far is inskip or fraser any thoughts?????????????????

rules beach, you got baffle creek to the south with ocean access or as theres no surf you can beach launch easilly, deepwater creek to the north,

good camping

estuary fishing

river fishing (heaps of jacks)

reef fishing for big reds, and spanyards

you can beah camp

or if you want ammenities there is baffle bobs on the

way out to the beach access point

there is a general store with basic supplies at the top of the beach

if you want a bit of civilisation you can camp on the caravan park at the little town of winfield

on the south bank of baffle creek

Hard to beat Straddy for convenience and great camping. You can still have a fire there which is always a plus. Flinders beach has some great campsites and its just around the corner from the boat ramp at Amity.

Inskip is worth a look if the weather is nice but a PITA if the wind gets up as the campsites are pretty exposed. We got sandblasted for a week last time we went.

Baffle & Stanage are both still on my to try list

Hi chandler130,

Just north of Bundaberg, about 40mins,you have Miara on the Kolan River, approx 1.5k`s from mouth/Pacific Ocean.Opposite camp grounds maze of mangrove islands, can be good crabbing.

River holds usual eustuary species, plus salmon, barra(check out likely spots with kiosk operators)jack.

Solid gravel boat ramp in park suitable small to medium size boats, another concrete ramp for larger boats 5mins up the road.

Bush style caravan/camping grounds, run by Gooburrum shire council, good amenities.

Pub,petrol,general store about 10mins away.

Good, all round relaxing, kid friendly place, the only pressure here is what you put intofishing/crabbing,yabbies beds available easy walk from park

cheers
