there is a great jetty there that used to be open for fishing but now for some reason has been closed- possibly because of a fatal shark attack that occured there. don't worry because the rocky outcrop produces fish- i've caught bream on bait (very lightly or unweighted prawns drifting down the water column and tailor on slugs cast at eddies. i have seen a report that showed spotty mackeral being taken from there as well and i don't doubt it as there are plenty of slimy mackeral around- i reckon there would be something eating them so maybe a livebait and balloon might be worth a shot if you're game. if you work a squid jig across the area near the swimming enclosure you can get small squid as well. there are DEFINITELY lots of sharks in the area so be well careful if in the water- also plenty of happy moments so make sure you know what one looks like! i once caught a trevally off the jetty as well on a soft plastic. good luck.
