so I was sitting at home yesterday bored out of my mind,so the missus sugested we go see how the boat runs since I had it fixed, and damn I'm glad she did..put the boat in down at the colmslie ramp and headed up to the mouth.. Got there and waited, got a few small taloir the the action heated up..we got 5 shovelys and I bagged out on snapper, biggest was 45 cms,and I lost a bigger knobby right next to the boat.all up we got 6 great brissy river snapper and the sharks..I must say the old river turned it on for me yesterday and that's the best fishing I've had since I moved down this way,il certainatly be going out again next weekend..pix will come just got to email them to angus to resize them for me....

Great lookin' feed there - bloody well done!

You mentioned launching at Colmslie. I actually checked the area out this afternoon on the way back from work for land based and found an impressive looking jetty. (old news to most I guess but new to me!)

Anyone had a go off there before? Might try and have a go at it this week sometime - so if anyone's launching a boat and sees an ugly looking long haired guy standin around catchin nothin' be sure to offer him a deckie spot!

there is some interesting structure around that area raven jettys and rock walls etc use google earth to check out land based access points

then there is the mouth of norman creek, allways worth a try

even the bridge over perrin creek(i think)on lytton road between colmslie and hawthore looks like it would be worth floating a livey out with an incoming tide and working it over with plastics while you wait

Don't get your hopes up raven. Only thing I've seen caught there is bait:(

Having said that it looks like it should produce something, and some members here have had some minor successes amongst a lot of failures.

i have witnessed sharks caught off the jetty as well as quite a few threadies captured last year, seems like you just gotta pick when they are on
