Just fished Wivenhoe in the yak today mate personally I think it's starting to get to late for the bass out there. We managed a few good size catfish and one yella belly that went 47cm but no bass:angry: , we were using 65mm boomerangs in DP and BB in regards to depths be prepared to fish anywhere from 10foot to 50foot.

A quick update..

Hit Wivenhoe last Sunday a bit late at about 8.00am, trolled passed where the grass is in the middle of the dam (thanks Tomcat Dan) plenty of fish showing on the sounder. Landed my first bass 45cm after about 30minutes :woohoo:

Was using the predatek boomerang 65 deep purple the other 2 guys were using boomerang 80 green & gold but no touch (excluding a catfish).

I though they were trolling a tad fast (75% minkota 55lb thrust) but no voting rights as a guest.. anyway first time there what did i know.

Did a bit of bobbing with earth worms in various locations ... catfish x plenty.. the pelicans did well (cut the barbs off)

Went around to a small bay with a rocky cliff where the road leading to the sailing club was visible and my mates father in law picked up 2 eel tailed catfish (jew) but he was camera shy, they were about 45cm as well. They're ugly looking things

Left at about 2.30 to avoid the storm ... good thing we did in retrospect. Fun day all the same :) [img size=500]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/45cm_Wivenhoe_Bass_AFO.jpg

Was on the dam last Saturday and did some sounding around to put in some marker bouys for sailing. For reference the closer of the 2 bouys in currently in about 15m of water and the one further out is in 20m of water. Between the 2 is where the river bends back on itself and comes up to about 4 metres and there was fish galore on the sounder right on the tip there.
