Newby to boating in and around Moreton Bay

I'm a bit of a virgin all round to the boating scene and boating around Moreton Bay.

Can you guys point me to where I can find some decent marine maps of the area? I read all the fishing reports in the papers ( local Bribie ones ) and all these names pop up all the time but I have no clue on where these spots are that they are talking about.

Also are there any websites that have gps references to some of the more popular holes and banks and reef structures around? Or is that the stuff one has to find out on the hush hush once you are in with some salty boaters in the area ?

mate you should get yourself of beacon to beacon its like the UBD of the water way covers all of QLD. it shows where to anchor if your staying out over night etc as well

First thing to get is Beacon to beacon avalible from tackle stores and newsagents and there is another book avalible at boating shop called 500 hot(read luke warm) fishing spots that is a pretty good starting spot after that time on the water is the best teacher along with this site
