Could've waited til dusk, when all bees back at the hive, got the smoker out, smoked them to sedate them, shake them into a bee box with new frames. Then lock them in there, take them home to settle overnight, wait until they've re-established in their new house. Then after a while, put them out under a big patch of flowering yellowbox or iron bark & turn that into one hell of a lot of honey!
