Hey all,

I know these guys aren't site sponsors... but Amart Allsports in QLD has Shimano twinpowers for $199. Its the FB model...but whatever....

I've just called my closest one and have asked them to hold a 1000 and 2500 for me....now to decide which one to get :)

Dammit... spending too much money on this stuff... but my tax return is AWESOME.

I'll have to post up on the latest buys thread... I've bought some good stuff in the last month.

 man don't tempt me...

I've just received my stradic about half an hour ago in the post at work.... scored this 2nd hand, spooled with 6lb and 4lb fireline for $160.

And now I'm gonna be buying a twin power.... unplanned purchases, but I just can't pass them up.

Do you guys reckon if I spooled one of the twinpower spools with 20 or 30lb it'd work for sharking this summer???? [img size=500]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/14112008907_AFO.jpg

The law of diminishing returns is like just because you got a bigger reel doesnt mean you going to catch more fish than you would on a 2500.

Like a 2500 might give a lot of good fish for his type of fishing, but the 4000 might catch the same amount but still land a few big ones.

difference is a few big ones.

overall they will still catch a lot of fish but the 4000 wont catch double the 2500 can catch.

unless of course all you hook ups are big fish.

and when fishing in the river they are not always big fish.

so for the law of diminishing returns you may have to trade off a bigger reel just to catch those few extra big ones, but not double, hence a smaller return

but by no means not worth it

cheers

Dan

Ray - Do you reckon a 2500 would do ok for the ~1m ones?? Maybe I'll have to get a 4000... considering I've just got a 2500....

I also have a 2000 loaded with 14 lb braid and the drag stood up to it ok but I kept getting 20lb leader failure but I dont know how the drag would stand up with using 30 lb line.
