Ive noticed a few anglers around the brissy river area using chicken breast for bait , Just curious what species ud catch using chicken breast , and is it a proven bait? Alot of anglers arnt usually keen to unveil their catch , but dont mind saying what they have been using , jus curious if its worthwhile , or should i stick with parmagiana , cheers B)

A lot of estuary species will have a snack on raw chicken (thigh or breast!) and I have caught whiting, bream, flatty, squire, jew and cod on it over the last couple of years.

If you can, get it with skin on as it helps to keep it on the hook.

Raw steak also works well for the same species.

Yeah,

Chook is good reliable bait for canal/river/estuary fishing. Can be a bit hit and miss. But sometimes my mates take it incase we can't net any livies. If you get a run or good bite on it, let the fish have some time. Have seen fish run with it and dump the bait only to come back for another go up to 1/2 an hour later.

Good luck.
