The storm that has just hit Riverview has me thinking of getting in my boat with my life jacket ON :woohoo:

can't even open the outside doors of my house :woohoo:

the rain and with the wind blows it inside :(

Knew I should have put all the storms back on the boat  might have an new aquarium when this is over lol

and what pisse's me off the most is I spent an hour washing the boat down after the W/E

getting a good wash know :silly:

if I turn black and go off line when and if I return I'm going for land rights lmao

Gaz :pinch:

i was out at deep tempest when a storm hit, the 1 that flattened manly a few years ago, didn't see it comming for moreton, it got wild out there i can tell ya, glad it only lasted 20 mins of the really bad crap, scary when you get a bit of water coming into the boat, from the sides, actually had to motor north with the storm, otherwise the boat would be an arty now. scary stuff, but better off for being caught in it, know what to do if it happens again, or to somebody i'm with, that 1 last cast CAN make the difference

My girl over at Ferny Hills had 73 mm in half an hour. Damage all up the street. Houses missing tiles or gutters, power lines down, trees down, no power, no land lines working...

I was on the way home, thinking I had timed a clear run back to Ipswich and it blew up out of nowhere. I had to park under Mt Ommaney shopping centre! Man it was looked nasty! I can't believe how quickly the area between Ipswich and Brisvegas got nasty! The big storm cell when I left was to the south and heading east, so I don't know what happened:blush:

Nice little shower, some pretty good rain in it, 65mm at Kenmore.

Sad part was seeing a couple of dogs running scared, not sure where to go or what to do. Stopped to try & help a Kelpie that was running terrified across some busy roads, luckily she went up a quiet side street, so I stopped to whistle her over, she paused for a moment, then another clap of thunder & she was off again. So jumped back in ute & followed her slowly, then turned ute side on in the street & opened the door in the hope she would jump in, but still no luck, then she just kept running through some scrub, hope she gets found safe & well.

We only just got the power back on, 85mm in less than hour.

Back yard looks like a war zone, direct hit on a gum tree blew it to smithereens all over the yard. Saw it hit, pretty spectacular.

Lost the top out of another tree next to the shed, damaged a sheet of roofing iron on it and ripped the gutter off, flooding the shed, with water. A couple of brand new TV's sitting in the cartons on the floor got wet bums, but hopefully are ok, it was only 10mm deep, and they are sitting on foam blocks inside the boxes.

Road out front was totally under water, from half way across the footpath. Can see a small tree over the road as well (gee should I take my chainsaw for a walk, or wait for council? sorry boss cant get to work, trees over the road! I think I'll wait.)

Feral,

I'm up Morayfield too. Had just enough time yesterday after reading this post to quickly tell the wife to grab the kids to comfort them whilst I raced downstairs to get the spare camping lights and get ready when whammo, it hit.Was listening to radio for updates and they said we had 56mm in 15 minutes.Couldn't believe how many people were still driving considering I was looking outside and couldn't see the road.

We had no damage but a tree in our yard is stripped of its leaves on one side and bent so I would think if the winds were stronger it would've snapped.

It's a pretty wow sort of sight when the lighting hits.We had it hit our verandah roof a couple weeks back when there was the big electrical storm at about 3 in the morning.Frighteningly powerful sight.

Had no generator so had an early night.Power came back on here about 3am.

I don't mind the storms. Was sorry to hear about the young bloke who drowned at one of the shopping centres after a flash flood.

Hulk
