Don't forget that the monitor frequency for your Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons changes from 121.5MHz to 406MHz on February 1st. You'll be up poo creek without a paddle if you don't get a new one, and illegal too!! Australian Maritime Safety Authority says dispose of your old ones responsibly (Don't sell 'em on Ebay!!)

All the best!

Ha! Ha! That will teach me to quote from the Wynnum Herald!! It opens with;

"An estimated 35000 boat owners could call for emergency help after February 1 2009 to find it never arrives"

It goes on, AMSA rep saying 6500 were registered last month, 35000 more to go, manufacturers not coping with demand, people not aware etc etc

Sorry to be led astray by sensationalist journos!! Perhaps they are gunning for a job on Erinsborough News........

You could always turn on the old one and stick a kids floatie on it on the outgoing tide as a protest of getting charged $400 for a new one!. Mongrels should have given $200 off as trade on an old one.
see! crime does pay, then there's the price of fuel, but might leave that alone.
