any ideas on how to rid me of this scourging bloody mongrel ...

prof is going to download it to hardcopy then attack it that way

it wont even let me download the scan when in safe mode...

Been a few badies going around lately hey....

Had one a while ago (think it was called windows anti virus xp). Downloaeded this thing, then got this cleverly disguised windows type pop-up (with the windows logo ie almost identical to the firewall one (actual windows program pop-up)) "your computer is at risk, dl this... blah blah blah..."

After that, good bye computer:silly: had to get a guy to fix it, wouldn't let me do a thing. No internet, no system restore, no add/remove hardware.... URGH!!!

Try installing NOD32 its a anti virus program similar to AGV and Norton etc but because its a lesser know application the tech heads that design the viruses generally focus their energy on hitting the more commercial programs like norton and by virtue of this the lesser known programs typically get over looked

I used to use AVG, found that it would slow up the pc on startup while it's updating the DB. I now use Avast home edition (free), it's great, updates in the background, while surfing anything malicious is notified immediately and blocked waiting for you to action... even the the Tech heads here at work use it at home... Here's the link for your info - free registration lasts a year, in 12 months re-register easy....

I'd say they are on par with the pricey ones, Iv'e been using AVG FREE, Spybot and adaware for the last 10 years with hardly any problems.

Tried Macafee antivirus once paid $125 for it and found it to be useless...slowed the computor up more than the virus did!!

Every so often I will also run a registry cleaner Ashampoo... as well.

I have been using them on 5 different computors!

Cheers.
