River sharking

Im new to fishing the River, is anyone able to tell me an active sharking area in the river? im keen to get a hold of these smaller river sharks and salmon.

mate at this time of year the whole river is full of them the keys are the hotter and more humid the weather the more you will catch

livebaits are WAY better than dead

if you are going to use dead baits a piece of pike eel fillet is best due to the stink

Don't go overboard with your hook size for the little sharks! The big bait / big hook combo is pretty inefficent on the sub meter sharks. They might have big mouths, but they sure can find and avoid a big hook pretty easy! Livies in the 3 - 5 inch size range are my fav with a hook sized to suite, followed a close second by eel fillet. I got no idea about Salmon though...

ive been catching a few at newstead/bretts wharf and under the story bridge, using 5/0 --> 7/0 hooks and eel fillet. sizes between 80 -> 200cm

mouth of oxley creek or super secret spot?

Yer its kind of a secret spot not far from the mouth of oxley creek:P .My father and i recently caught six, early hours of the morning on the outgoing tide.

We've found that the sharks are more active on the outgoing tide.
