Somewhere south I think. Land based? Maybe! I think ill pull the old referdex out and just hit up any bridges, rocks walls, canals etc with foot access.

Hooked a cod of about 35 - 40cm today and it jumped clean out of the water after being hooked, i had to skull it away from the structure and pulled the hooks right at the end of the fight. guessing winning fish will be around 50 - 70cm though. Unless offshore then closer to 1m.

Im not sure many people target EC as a catch, they are more a by catch

Mate as much as I hope to see some more awesome cod entered, there was a sneaking element of sarcasm in my post :P

AS Feral said, way to set the bar!!

I was snorkling in the Noosa River once around the pontoons near where Barry's Wharf used to be and saw one like underneath once. At a glance in the dark of the pontoon it scared the living bejebus out of me!

Well done again.

Guys, the fish been gutted and cooked by the time I got back. I am sorry that I did not take a pic of it with my mugshot in it. Dont worry I will catch another one later this week and it will be bigger than Leighton's...haha

I hope so, I just picked up some 80 lbs leader. Might be able to land some of the bigger models lurking at that spot1

Now everyonne is going there to retrieve it...goodbye gold bomber

Yeah, Leighton, we were chucking wrigglers on jigs and the one I caught bent the hook on it. looks like I need to get heavier artillery to deal with the monster cod that I am going to catch.

were is the best place to target estuary cod.

What do u catch them on.

What line and all that stuff.

sorry if i am asking to much just keen

to catch a cod.

Brissy River has a few around rocks and mangroves.

Live prawn or herring or lures about the size of an sx60.

I caught my last on a viking crank minow on a 3kg rod spinning for bream, it went about

55cm but still was not a very big cod, they get a lot bigger.

cheers
