Pine River 2/3/09

Was my best mate's birthday yesterday so took the day off work to go for a fish and a blaze with him..

Took my plastics and lures and some servo prawns to a back creek in the pine and on his first cast my mate came up with a nice little 20-25cm Flathead.

"Where there is one - there are many" were my thoughts so I kept peppering all angles with 3 inch pumpkinseed fat grubs, paddle tail sliders, drop shot minnows, 2 inch gulp shrimp but only managed a bump every now and again..

Threw on a SX48 after awhile and started slow rolling it in and picked up this 45cm Flathead.. Added the pic further down..

Better than work :)

Whenever I choose the file to insert it, it just doesn't bring up anything when I preview it..

I just browse and attach it under images, then press that img button and hit preview but no picture comes up?? Its well within the size limits

When uploading the pic for the first time it doesn't show up in the preview. Try editing your original post and attaching image to it to save creating wasted posts.

Haha - yeah perfect eating size but all my fish always live to swim another day! Although I haven't given them a super run yet I do prefer the 48's to the 40's.. Im convinced the 40's are being ignored by the big boys as they almost aren't worth their bother. I found that with plastics too.. on 1.5inch grubs and sliders I can get fish but they are always small.. Use the 3-4inch plastics and you certainly dont get the same run rate but you get much better fish. Theres exception to every rule though I suppose. Im going to get acouple of SX-60's and try them in Coochin this weekend.
