Targets?

Whatever is biting?

From what I have heard this could be anything from queenies, to jacks, cod, fingermark, barra, flathead etc.

Anyway hopefullt ill come back with a decent report.

If anyone has been there previously and would like to divulge information, dont hesitate :P

Cheers

my best advice (so I have been told) is to take someone else's boat...lots of shallow rockbars! :(

I think I have a couple of mud maps with a few spots given to me - see if I can't dig them out over the next couple of days.

there is a tackle shop somewhere near baffle that will give some local up-to-date advice - especially if you buy a few things while you are in there!

Angus,I just got back from Baffle on the weekend we got there wednesday morning blowing 25's blew thru til Friday. A week befor we got there over a 2 period they had 300mm of rain fall and as a result the river seemed to be 90% fresh the salt hadn't even reached Baffle Bobs as yet. we cast and trolled for a couple of days for not even a touch but over a 2 day period we got 13 nice full bucks as a bonus.

If they don't get anymore rain over the next couple of weeks it will do it some good. There was a week long fishing comp on while we were there (mon-fri) and over the week they only had 4 jacks weighed in.

a 15 years ago my dad was going to buy land with a macadamia farm up there that was at deepwater just up from Baffle Creek,200 acre's x 6. was 300 thou back then.

it ran from near deepwater national park to the about the top of broadwater conservation park .3lots 3 houses and a working farm.7 km of beach the access to the creek that has access to the ocean. he looked a few property's up around that area.

wish he took that 1 hey what a spot to go to.

anyways he end up buying a heap of mining land out at rubyvale and sapphire.not so much fun as all u can do is dig for rocks and drink.

we where going to do seventeen seventy , turkey beach, deepwater ,rules beach ,baffle creek and work our way back down the coast to inskip.that was ment to be a 8 week xmass trip.fishing and camping .it fell through :(

The guys from DJ's Fishing&Camping were fishing the comp whilst we were there last week I had a yarn to them at the ramp and they were telling me the jacks hadn't been hitting a lure or a live bait for weeks now they were only getting them on strip baits, plenty of muddies on the move though.

if you are chasing jacks upstream past the island is best

fish the deep hole on the upstream side of the winfield caravan park on the south bank at night with bait for some unstopables type fun

get down the mouth at dawn on a run in for an assortment of queenies and trevs on slugs and poppers

baffle bobs is a beautifull spot

make you have a swim in the pool its pure local springwater

and feels like you are swimming in sparkling mineral water

This trip was cancelled sadly due to work opportunties.

Tom and I fished the Bruns instead.

I will get up there eventually though!

Prob wait until next summer now though.
