classic barra white body red head, bommbers, gold, blue but it depends on the weather if it goes south like it does for time to time big pink rmg scorpions but take lots because what works today might not work tomorrow.

don't just limit your self to hard bodys get soft plastics but make shore they have good 5/0 to 8/0 tt's are the best iv'e foundand last but not least the boof frogs or any big surface plastics good luck i'll be there in the next month or so also try and get a day at awonga.

I found Barra buster's I think they were called ($ 5 cheapies in a tackle shop in Katherine )

worked the best for us when we were fishing the Mary river ;)

bright fluro colors worked best :)

and if your not getting snagged when trolling your not where the barra are :woohoo:

I tried nils master's ,mc grath and other 18 buck + lures and the cheapies worked better ???

and you still cry when you loose it even though it was only 5 bucks it caught Fish :woohoo: :woohoo:

Gazza, normally you'd be right about the trolling, but last trip we were getting them between 12 and 15 foot down, in 110 foot of water! ;)

Have a couple of trays of mixed depths, (0.5m through to 8m) and a mix of colours, while golds and purples and Qantas (white body red head) are traditional favourites, just be prepared to buy a couple of what ever Foxies recommend on your way through.

Last trip I got my barra on gold lures, others, as faulked said, guns and roses (green and red from memory). Faulked got one a bibless mackerel lure as well! So a couple of Bushies Stiffies or the big Halco bibless lures and a rooster popper or two wouldn't go astray.

Green and gold squidgee slick rigs have also served me well in the past.

Angus has a unique catch and release style using Jackalls which is quite amusing for his companions! ;)

G,day I found Viper lures worked for the blokes I went fishing with and it was a purple hypa viper -8M diver that boated (kayaked) my 125cm barra at awoonga.

Matty Mott swares by squidgy slik riggs worked around the headlands and bays.

With the viper range though I'd replace all the trebles with Owner or another good brand and change the rings as well. We were only using 20lb braid and 40lb fluro leaders and we still broke and bent hooks on fish between 116.5cm and the 125cm unit.

Good luck on the hunt.

cheers noddsB) B)
