Fishing hooks

Could somebody explain to me:

when to use a bronze hook over a nickel, and straight eye over the inverted ones.

or doesn't it matter?

eh? Do you mean the eye is bent out of the vertical plane?

neihter of those is usually a factor in my hook choice, the only time I ever use hooks with the eyes anything but straight is when I am going to gang the hooks, terminal hook is still one with a \"straight eye\".

hook coating does not worry me in the slightest, I prefer not to use those old clear coated ones mustad used to sell years ago, it used to flake off.

i try to use a hook with a colour simalar to the bait eg. a bronze hook/s for pilchard, or a silver hook for silvery fleash bait, it probably dosent matter too much but i like to be perfect and who knows it might mean a fish of a life time or no fish at all.so im not taking any risks

thanks guys cause I got a heap of those inverted eye ones in a tackle box kit so i should prob play around with them try make up some rigs
