g'day me n some mates went fishin at the hornibrook walkway bridge on monday chasing whtever wanted our bait. started off with a lil flatty n sum other tidlers but as the tide started to drop we got hammered by a small bull shark using a live herring, we were amazed as it jumped clean out of the water twice before cutting the 10lb line. We then went to wire traces using mullet fillets for bait, not long afetr our lines were deployed one of our line went screaming out towards the naybouring car bridge. ma mate tightened his drag n it came in without much trouble. measured in at est 70cm. Drped 2 more that day due to the jumping trick.

mullet or large slimy mackreal under ballone for the bigger ones the run out tide is the go but you have to foat ur ballon out past the car bridge (between the piles) when ur hooked up and the shark arks you stick the reel in freespool andit usually comes straight agian then lock it up and wind. sometimes you will loose them to the pilons but 90% of the time you will get them back thru it just takes a few hours :P with a tide comming in youl get plpenty of 4-5 footers with the occasional 6-8 footer mixed in there.
